Beneath the surface, everything changes. The noise disappears. Time slows. The body learns to trust a form of intelligence older than thought.
Sofia has been freediving for ten years. She knows the Azores like no one else — the depths, the currents, the seasons, the species that pass through. A week with her is a week learning to see the ocean from the inside.
What you experience
The Azores is a volcanic archipelago in the middle of the Atlantic. The water is clear, deep, alive. Dolphins live here year-round. Sperm whales pass through in migration. Manta rays feed just a few metres below the surface.
We do not chase these encounters. We create the conditions for them to happen. Sofia teaches you to swim differently — slower, deeper, with a presence that does not disturb what she wants to show you.
What you take away
The ability to hold your breath longer than you imagine. A knowledge of North Atlantic marine species. And perhaps, a few minutes beneath the surface of an ocean you will not soon forget.
No freediving experience required. Sofia adapts each session to the group’s level. Safety comes before everything else.
